About The Role
The Assistant Accountant will play a vital role in supporting the Financial Planning and Reporting Group by executing a range of accounting responsibilities. This role will involve assisting with daily financial operations, producing performance reports, and collaborating with various stakeholders to analyse and manage financial data. It will also be involved in Council's Annual Budgeting Processes and Financial Statement preparation in adherence to Australian Accounting standards and the NSW Office of Local Government’s Code of Accounting Practice and Financial Reporting.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in accounting or a related discipline and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. You should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, showcasing excellent organisational skills.
- Well-developed analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- A keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience in customer service with effective communication skills.
- Eligible for or currently enrolled in the CA Program or CPA Program (desirable).

- Package: From $80,196 - $85,005 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full-Time 35 hours per week with option of 19-day month with flex-time arrangement.
