Our team

The role of the Corporate Planner is to oversee the development of the Council's corporate planning and reporting processes, specifically focusing on the suite of Integrated Planning and Reporting documents and promoting the Integrated Planning & Reporting Framework.

The Corporate Planner will guide corporate strategy, coordinate projects, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of strategies and projects.
While not directly responsible for the Community Strategic Plan, the Corporate Planner will have a good understanding of community feedback to align the Delivery Program and Operational Plans appropriately.

Additionally, the Corporate Planner will work with Council’s Communications and Engagement Team to develop an external engagement strategy for Integrated Planning & Reporting processes.

You will engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver key planning documents, including the Delivery Program, Operational Plans, Resourcing Strategies. Collaborating closely with Council’s leadership team, you will provide critical business insights and recommendations, ensuring excellence in corporate planning.

The Corporate Planner will lead the preparation of the State of our City Report (previously known as the End of Term Report), Annual Report and reporting on the Community Strategic Plan, while also taking charge of communication and stakeholder engagement to provide valuable information for customers and enhance collaboration and innovation for the benefit of the Council and the community.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Tertiary or other qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in developing and conducting effective internal and external engagement.
  • Extensive experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated high-level experience in research, statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Demonstrated high-level experience in writing and editing complex documents such as strategic plans, annual reports, and submissions using plain English principles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework and/or demonstrated high-level experience in business planning and reporting and/or the integrated planning and reporting framework.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills are essential. Experience in developing corporate plans and reports, along with relevant qualifications in business, analytics, or governance, is highly desirable.

Salary Range: From $115,947.63 - $129,861.81 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
