Description
Applications are invited for the position of Parks and CBD Cleaning Assistant based at Inverell Works Centre. The successful applicant shall be one of Council’s mixed duties labourers in Council’s Parks and Gardens Section and would also provide ongoing relief and support to Council’s CBD cleaning unit staff, as per the roster.

Applicants should address the following Selection Criteria:
Essential Criteria:
Qualifications
- NSW School Certificate/Record of School Achievement or equivalent;
- NSW Class MR Drivers Licence; and
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (‘White Card’).
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently;
- Track record as highly motivated self starter; and
- Ability and preparedness to undertake relief work, when required, in the CBD cleaning unit including work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Desirable Criteria:
Qualifications:
- Traffic Controller Certificate or ability and willingness to obtain one;
- Chainsaw Operations Certificate;
- Chemical Application Certificate; and
- National Licence to perform High Risk Work for Elevating Work Platform (WP).
Skills and Experience
- Experience in parks and gardens or related field; and
- Experience in general cleaning and maintenance duties.
Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 2, Grade 2. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $999.85 to $1,054.90 gross per week. In addition a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.498 per hour will be paid where applicable.
