About the Opportunity

Georges River Council is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Manager of Community and Early Learning Services. Reporting to the Director Community and Culture, you will lead service provision and drive the strategic direction of Council's Early Learning Services including 5 Early Learning Centres, and the Community Capacity Building function, responding to community challenges and opportunities.

  • Permanent, Fulltime (70 hours per fortnight)
  • Salary ranging from $157,379 - $196,088 plus 11.5% superannuation plus car allowance per annum (depending on skills and experience)
  • Car Allowance of $10,780
  • Based at the conveniently located Civic Centre in Hurstville CBD (5-minute walk from train station), the Manager will be required to regularly work across all 5 service locations and the Civic centre as a part of the dynamic and mobile leadership role.

 What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care setting, Social Sciences, and/or equivalent discipline.
  • Demonstrated minimum 5 years management experience in an early childhood and education setting.
  • NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Identify and respond to children and young people at risk certificate.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and program planning processes.
  • Knowledge of NSW Regulatory Authority regulations and NSW Education's funding procedures. 
  • Knowledge of the Quality Improvement Plan as well as the Rating and Assessment Process for Long Day Care, Pre-School, and Occasional Care Services. 
  • Sound knowledge of Child Care Subsidy funding arrangements. 
  • Sound understanding of community development principals. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues pertaining to human services, in particular housing, health, transport, safety and community services.
  • Demonstrated experience working in partnership with all levels of government, community sector organisations, community groups, local businesses and the community.
  • Demonstrated experience in organising community event programs and the management of community grants. 
  • Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, management and reporting. 
  • Highly developed organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a political environment. 

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualifications in Business, Management or related discipline.
