About the opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Building Surveyor with excellent customer service skills to join our team on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 6 years.

You will provide effective and timely support to our Building Surveyors in their building certification, assessment and regulatory functions within our City Planning and Development directorate. In return, you will gain a broad range of Building Surveying experience including building certification and inspections, development assessment as well as a range of fire safety and regulatory control responsibilities.

Applicants will be required to successfully undertake a relevant university degree and will have their course expenses covered (conditions apply). 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Eligible for enrolment, or currently enrolled, in a relevant university degree course
  • Current class C driver's licence.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Trainee rates apply 
  • 35-hour working week
