Your next opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Waste Management Facility Officer to join our team at Dungog Shire Council. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the receipt, processing, storage and recycling of waste received at the Dungog Waste Management Facility. You will also share responsibility for ensuring the general upkeep and presentation of the Facility.
Operating over a 7-day rotating roster, you will be required to work during both opening and closed hours at the Facility as per roster requirements.
Essential selection criteria include (full criteria in the Position Description below):
- Class C Driver Licence
- Experience in operating heavy earthmoving plant
- Experience in weighbridge operation, including weighbridge operating systems
- Cash handling and reconciliation experience
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of work relevant to this position
- Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a self-managed work team
- Literacy and Numeracy to Year 10 or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety Act and practices
- WorkCover WHS Induction Training for Construction Work (White Card)
- Competence in the operation of small plant and equipment (e.g. whipper snipper)
Be rewarded
This position is placed at Grade 4 of Council’s salary system. The full-time equivalent salary offered is in the range of $60,080 to $67,582 per annum plus 11.5% Superannuation, dependent upon competency level and in accordance with Council’s Salary Policy. This position will be paid pro rata for part time.
This is a temporary, part-time position for 12 months working on a 7-day rotating roster to accommodate the opening and close times of the Dungog Waste Management Facility. Please note that this position will involve working regular weekend shifts.
