You will be responsible for the comprehensive management of multiple built form projects and contracts, from initial procurement through to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, adhering to City policies, frameworks, and industry best practices. You will form part of a dynamic team of professionals providing an internal specialised project consultancy services for other City departments. You will be an expert in stakeholder engagement and reviewing and providing recommendation for specialised consultant and architect specifications, drawings, contract documentation and communicate amendments.

Critical evaluation of quotes and tender submissions will form part of your role, along with maintenance of project management tools and reports, all aligned with City’s Policies and standards. Success requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with proven expertise in construction project and contract management, including cost control and financial reporting. You will also demonstrate proficiency in developing comprehensive project documentation (scopes, specifications, contracts, estimates, budgets). A qualification in project management, construction, or a trades field is essential, with local government experience and legislative knowledge highly valued

To be considered for this role, you must address the following Essential selection criteria as part of your online application:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and administering construction projects and contracts
  • Experience with financial management of projects covering budgeting and reporting requirements
  • Strong background in managing stakeholders, contractors and consultants
  • Ability to produce high quality project scopes, specifications, contracts, estimates and budgets
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal skills, particularly verbal communication
  • Ability to interpret and understand architectural plans and drawings
  • Ability to understand relevant Acts, Regulations, local laws, policies and building codes
  • Degree, Diploma in project management or construction or a similar field or alternatively a trade qualification (applicants working towards attaining will also be considered)
  • Current ‘C’ class Australian driver’s licence

We are offering a gross salary of $99,138 to $106,623 per annum (dependent on skills and experience), and:

  • 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
