Based at the City’s Depot in Crocker Street, Rockingham, you will assist the Tree Maintenance team in undertaking hands on maintenance of the City’s trees in public open space and streetscapes, so knowledge of horticultural practices relating to tree care is a must. You will provide the required operations support to achieve high quality outcomes for urban greening in the City.
It involves manual labour and/or operating machinery as required to perform tree planting and tree care maintenance activities. It is therefore essential to have a current ‘MR’ class driver’s licence as well as a Construction Induction Training (White Card).
You are a proactive team player, enjoy working outdoors and have a keen interest in high quality urban greening activities and tree care maintenance in parks, reserves and streetscapes. You need to be able to work in either hot or inclement outdoor conditions.
To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:
- Arboriculture/Horticultural related industry operational experience
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment or able to work alone under direction
- Able to prioritise work and manage own time
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Literacy and numeracy skills
- Able to work in accordance with WHS industry obligations
This position offers a gross wage of $1,403 per week, and:
- 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
