Job/Responsibilities

Council is currently looking for a reliable, self-motivated person who can work after hours and on weekends, to join the team as a Casual Aerodrome Reporting Officer.

As an Aerodrome Reporting Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking critical inspections and ensuring operational and area compliance and safety at the Orange Aerodrome including:

  • Undertaking pre-flight and other necessary inspections at the Aerodrome and Runway on weekends and when on call and record daily inspections
  • Ensure compliance by other Aerodrome users and members of the public and issue Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) where required
  • Enforce vehicle rules at the Aerodrome
  • Ensure all security devices and systems are operational, including operational lighting
  • Attend to Aerodrome emergencies and safety issues as required.

Hourly Rate: Grade 4, Entry Level $39.15 (excludes Superannuation and relevant penalty rates)

As you can imagine this is a critically important position and as such to be successful you will need to be:

  • Reliable and able to work weekends and after hours (even in the depths of winter)
  • Someone who works with maturity and can be relied upon to work unsupervised
  • Able to make critical decisions when required and is able to deal with emergency situations and still remain calm under pressure
  • A problem solver and who has excellent communication skills
  • Ability to complete relevant Aerodrome training and courses

You'll also need to have:

  • A current NSW Class C Drivers Licence
  • A current Aerodrome Security Identification Card (ASIC) or the ability to obtain prior to commencement
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or the ability to obtain prior to commencement
  • Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) or the ability to obtain prior to commencement

Please note: This is a casual position which means there are no set rostered hours or days, the successful applicants will be required to work weekends and be available for call out 7 days per week from 6pm to 6am. Penalty rates apply.
