North Sydney Council
Expressions of Interest: Disability Inclusion Committee

Posted: 17 Apr
Closes: 23 May

Description

Expressions of interest are now open for North Sydney Council’s Access and Inclusion Committee (AIC).

The AIC was established in 2024 to provide expertise and advice on how to enhance accessibility and promote inclusion within Council’s infrastructure, facilities, events, services, systems and processes.

The AIC has already played a key role in the development of Council’s recent 10-Year Strategic Plans, as well as providing input on other key projects and initiatives such as the Transport Oriented Development planning reforms, an access audit of Council’s sporting facilities, and more.

We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for new AIC members in preparation for the development of our next Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP). If you are interested in helping to shape the future of access and inclusion for people with disability in North Sydney LGA, make sure you apply!

To be eligible for the AIC, you must be a local resident or a person closely connected to North Sydney who have a disability or care for someone with a disability and who are keen to be part of the solution to promote access and inclusion in our community.

Meeting Details: The AIC meets quarterly, with meetings held on a Tuesday from 5:30-7:30pm. Meetings are typically held in the Ros Crichton Pavillion, located in Ted Mack Civic Park. While in person attendance is preferred, AIC members can attend online if they are unable to attend in person

Upcoming meetings of the AIC will be held on the following dates:

  • May 27th

  • August 26th

  • November 25th
