Description

Thank you for your interest in undertaking work experience with Georges River Council.

Our work experience program provides students with an unpaid opportunity to gain on-the-job experience, an insight into varied departments and professions within our local government area.

Work experience placements are available throughout the year and are offered based on your details provided within your application.

Consideration of work experience is made on the following basis:

  • The area of interest and whether the work area can provide an effective on-the-job experience.
  • Date and duration of the placement

Due to the high volumes of requests received the number and timing of work experience is not always guaranteed.

A team member of People and Culture will be in touch via the contact details provided on the application to confirm whether work experience can be accommodated.

Eligibility

Eligibility for work experience/ placement is normally for students that are currently studying at High School and are currently in Years 10, 11, or 12; TAFE students or University students.

Students will be required to provide proof that they are covered by public liability insurance by a recognised school, tertiary institution or referral agency.

Although we will consider requests from all students, preference will be given to students who live or study within our Local Government Area.

Please note, If you are under 18 years of age you will need approval from a parent or caregiver.
