The Yards Officer is a support service to Council's operational teams. This position undertakes a range of functions to contribute to the smooth operation of Council's depot site. The position has the responsibilities of the depot weigh bridge, receiving, issuing and recording of materials in and out of the depot, general housekeeping of the yard site, and the support of the stores that provides all equipment and supplies to Council operational teams.

Essential:

• Considerable experience operating a frontend Loader/Backhoe including certification equivalent to LB/LL licence or equivalent Verification of Competency (VOC)
• Class LF Forklift certification issued by SafeWork NSW
• Work health & Safety General Construction Induction (White Card)
• Manual handling skills
• Asbestos awareness and safety
• Demonstrated ability to apply WHS and EEO principles
• Record keeping
• Ability to operate computer and software packages

Desirable:

• MR or HR Drivers licence
• Traffic Control Certificate
• Operation of small plant and equipment
• Experience in general labouring work
