About the opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Civil Operations to be part of and lead a small team within our Civil Assets Maintenance section on a permanent, full-time basis.
The team undertakes roads and drainage works to meet requirements in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
The successful person will lead, direct and supervise a team of Civil Operations Asset Maintenance staff reporting to them.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Good knowledge and experience in civil operations and asset maintenance functions and day labour activities
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Previous experience in supervising and training staff
- Minimum of 12 months experience in operating plant and equipment
- Experience in recording and reporting completed work, materials and resources used daily
- Good skills in working with and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Able and willing to learn to use mobility in daily planning and execution of tasks
- Current MR Driver’s licence and appropriate Work Cover certificates and other mandatory licences
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Relevant certificate or working towards a certificate
- Availability to work flexible working hours and to work overtime as required.
Desirable:
- First Aid certificate.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,271.21 per week
- 38-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
