Swimming Teacher

About the role
The City are seeking experienced and qualified swimming instructors to join their Leisure Services Team.
We are specifically looking for Infant Swim Teachers who are available to work during the week (school hours) and Saturday mornings 9am to 12noon.
Your role is to teach and supervise participants during swimming lessons, teaching the “Learn to Swim” program and keeping adequate records. You maintain a high level of Workplace Health and Safety at all times and ensure Aqua Jetty’s policies and procedures are adhered to.
You have a passion for helping people reach their goals and use your interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and relate to a diverse group of people. You have previous swimming teaching experience and a keen knowledge of related principles and other matters, including emergency procedures.
Essential requirements for this position:
- Current AUSTSWIM Certificate – Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety or equivalent
- Current AUSTSWIM Certificate - Teacher of Infant Swim and Preschool Aquaics
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check
In applying for this role, you will be considered for work at both Aqua Jetty and the Rockingham Aquatic Centre. The centres operate seven days a week including early morning and evenings. Applicants should have availability to enable them to work in line with the facilities opening hours.
What we offer
You will be paid $63,871 per annum pro-rata, which equates to $32.32 per hour.
