  • Salary $91,656.76 to $106,322.32 p/a + super
  • Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week

About Ku-ring-gai Council

Located 16 km’s north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Team Leader People Strategy & Business Partnering, you will play an integral role in ensuring best practice HR principles are applied across the organisation. This will involve providing strategic advice and support to managers and employees and supporting the implementation of key projects, programs, policies and work practices throughout Council.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to

  • Ensuring the effective delivery of HR transactional tasks
  • Partnering with the business to provide internal advice, coaching and consultancy to staff and management in relation to ER/IR matters: grievances, performance management, disciplinary matters, structural review, leave arrangements and the application of relevant policies/Award/legislation
  • Liaising with relevant external parties including LGNSW and Unions on ER/IR and workforce management related issues
  • Contributing to statistical and statutory reporting requirements
  • Reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Contributing to and leading HR projects and initiatives

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field, or significant relevant work experience
  • Current Class C driver’s licence
  • Ability to research and interpret Federal, State and Local Legislation in the context of Local Government employment issues
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and provide advice to managers and employees on a wide range of complex human resource matters
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computer applications, in particular the Microsoft suite of products (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software

 

This role will utilise your experience in developing strong working and stakeholder relationships to deliver agreed outcomes and results.
