An opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced mechanic to join our Fleet & Workshop Team to deliver a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance, servicing and repair of Council’s vehicles, plant and equipment.

What this role looks like:
• Provide service, maintenance, and repair of Council and RFS vehicles, plant and equipment including inspections, testing, diagnosis, and fault finding.
• Follow Council and RFS mechanical works schedules with respect to maintenance and safety inspections.
• Keep accurate servicing records of time, parts, and other vehicle information.
• Ensure that servicing and repairs are undertaken efficiently and effectively to minimise downtime.
• Ensure that all work is consistent with manufacturer’s specifications and statutory regulations.
• Ensure compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Law and Chain of Responsibility legislation.

What are we seeking in our new team member:
1. Hold a recognised trade qualification as a Motor, Diesel or Plant mechanic, together with NSW Fair Trading/ M.V.R.I.C certification
2. Relevant post-trade qualifications and extensive experience and knowledge in the maintenance and operations of Light and/or Heavy vehicles, Earthmoving plant, Small Plant & equipment.
3. Hold a current HR driver’s licence (or willingness to obtain)
4. RMS Vehicle Inspection Certificate light &/or Heavy (or willingness to obtain)
5. White Card (or willingness to obtain)
6. Be willingly to perform call out work if required, after normal working hours, on weekends and Public Holidays
