ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Reactive team focuses on managing the daily presentation of the public domain within the Cumberland City Area, ensuring that it is maintained and presented so that residents and visitors are proud of the area and it meets their expectations.
The Team Member - Reactive Crew will be held accountable for responding to high priority requests in delivering maintenance duties including Town Centre cleansing, parks, streetscape and verge maintenance, minor road and footpath repairs. This position will ensure Council’s Local Government area is maintained to a level that meets the community's expectations through a quick response program utilising the industry best practice.
The successful applicant will require:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in general maintenance duties
- Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with peers, customers and community organisations and an ability to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a strong customer focus with sound customer service skills and the ability to embrace a system of change and continual improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively complete relevant administration tasks associated with the position.
- Be able to operate multiple electronic devices which will assist in the delivery of projects
- Current class C drivers licence
- Current Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementer card (also known as Traffic Control Combo course)
- General Construction Induction Card (white card)
- Current ‘ChemCert’ (Chemical Handling AQF3) qualification.

About this role:
- Permanent, full-time position
- 70 hour fortnight
- The hours of work will be based on two (2) shift patterns of morning and night shift from 5:00am to 1:30pm and 9:00pm to 5:30am
- Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement
- Located at Council's Auburn Depot, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and will be required to work across any of Council’s work locations
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 5 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,121.69 to $1,289.95 per week, plus 11.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
