Coordinator, Waste Operations
Full-time - Ongoing

Position Number: 6010

Location: Queanbeyan

Package: $104,586.04 - $115,562.20 gross per annum + 11.5% super. (Evaluated as Grade 16 of the QPRC Salary System 2024) and a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Fulltime – 38 hours per week. 9-day fortnight conditions will apply.

Are you passionate about waste and sustainability and looking for a new challenge in an operationally diverse local government organisation?

In this role you will:

  • Oversee the operations of ten waste facilities, rural and residential waste collection services, roadside litter collection programs and emergency waste management services.
  • Lead and develop a large, high-performing team of waste operators across a large local government area whilst fostering employee engagement and high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and reporting standards associated with waste operations.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has relevant qualifications in Waste Management, Environmental Management and/or substantial relevant working experience.
  • Can demonstrate a solid understanding of waste minimisation issues and trends, and relevant New South Wales legislation.
  • Can demonstrate strong experience and capabilities in leadership.
