Biodiversity Officer

SALARY: $1,704.12 - 1,952.34 pw + Super

Work Type: Temporary Part Time (up to 3 years)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Biodiversity Officer with a strong focus on natural resource management to become a part of our multi-disciplinary team. You will bring with you an abundance of experience, and an eagerness to be part of a collaborative team focused on the protection and enhancement of the environment.

This exciting position will see the successful applicant develop and implement programs, displays, activities and education materials to improve biodiversity education outcomes. You will also provide technical support and advice on natural resource management issues, including natural areas, pest and weed management.

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications and / or demonstrated equivalent experience in Natural Resource Management / Environmental Science or similar
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of natural resource management and biodiversity issues
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, promoting, implementing evaluating and monitoring biodiversity and natural resources management projects
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, promoting, implementing evaluating and monitoring biodiversity education / engagement projects
  • Ability to write analytical and logical reports drawing justified conclusions
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Highly developed time management skills and the ability to manage high workloads

To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
