Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of an innovative Council seeking to make a positive difference in the community you support? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Youth Worker Programs and Development to join our team.

About the Role

You will be responsible for developing and delivering programs and projects to address the recreational, social and psychological needs of young people at Synergy Youth Centre and in the Lane Cove Municipality.

This position works closely with the Youth Team and other stakeholders to deliver programs and activities that are relevant and responsive to the identified needs of young people.

Most importantly is the provision of professional supervision to young people attending the youth centre and participating in programs and services delivered by the Youth Team.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in youth work, social sciences or relevant field, or equivalent qualifications combined with experience.
  • A current ‘Paid Worker - Working with Children Check' clearance (NSW).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering programs for, and supervision of, young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with young people in accordance with relevant Council policies and legislation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.

Salary range - Up to $81K per annum (incl super) dependent on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate.
