We deliver 29 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 370,000 residents.

The role
CBCity are currently seeking a waste and cleansing industry professional with exceptional safety standards to join our Waste and Cleansing unit as a Waste Operations Driver. You will be responsible for meeting day-to-day operational requirements as directed by Work Coordinators in a thorough, professional and cost-effective manner that will meet contractual requirements.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Operation of a range of plant and equipment including rear-load garbage compactors, street sweepers, brush cutters and blowers.
  • Assist in the safe, efficient and effective operation of garbage compaction vehicles.
  • Assemble and deliver new and replacement mobile garbage bins (MGBs) as well as carrying out repairs to existing MGBs.
  • Daily maintenance of plant to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform and fill out pre and post check list daily.
  • Attend emergency response requests.

You will have

  • Current Class HR drivers’ licence.
  • Ability to operate plant and equipment used in the waste and cleansing industry.
  • Proven record of flexible work practices to accommodate change and provide responsive services to meet client’s needs.
  • Awareness of the responsibilities of employees under the Work Health and Safety Act.
  • Previous experience operating a Side Loader will be highly regarded.
  • Traffic Control tickets are preferred however not essential.

The rate for this opportunity is $2,891 per fortnight (Grade D, Step 3) + AWCA 2 + 11.5% super.
