About The Role

The Community Engagement Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring that our council engages effectively with the community. This position is designed for a subject matter expert who will lead community engagement initiatives, empower residents to participate in civic life, and inform decision-making processes within the council.

As a vital member of the Communication & Engagement Unit, you will provide strategic advice and support to enhance stakeholder engagement and contribute to the overall success of our community-focused projects.

Who We are Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in community engagement and communications.

  • Degree in Communications or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in community and stakeholder engagement roles.
  • Strong understanding of community engagement methodologies and the ability to develop effective strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor approaches to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Certification with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).

The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who can build productive relationships and promote a culture of collaboration and respect.

  • Package: $96,668 - $108,266 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Temporary Full-Time 35 hours per week with option of 19-day month with flex-time arrangement. Opportunity expected to be available for up to 12 months.
