The role & you
The Assistant Companion Animals Officer is a dynamic position within the Environmental Health and Regulatory Services Department. You will play a vital role in assisting with community engagement and education relating to animal welfare.
In this role, you will help operate our animal pounds, promote rehoming programs, educate the community on responsible pet ownership, and support enforcement and reporting activities in line with the Companion Animals Act.
We seek a motivated individual who shares our passion for animal welfare and community education. We value candidates who demonstrate accountability, integrity, and the ability to engage positively with the community. Your role will be pivotal in fostering constructive relationships that drive our organizational outcomes.
The successful candidate will have qualifications in Animal Care Services (or a willingness to obtain).
This position will require a pre-employment medical check to ensure the successful candidate can complete the essential requirements of the role.

Salary: Commencing salary package $60,950 p.a. plus superannuation.
A "to and from" use vehicle is available and will be discussed with the successful candidate.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree, and will also work at our Taree and Tuncurry Animal Pounds.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time, 38 hours per week.
Closing date: Sunday 1 December 2024 at 11.30 pm.
