Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? Join our team as a Community Activity Officer and help deliver on programs and events!

About the role

In this rewarding role, you'll assist the Hillview Team and Community Learning Team to deliver a diverse range of community programs, services and events. From cultural support workshops at our Hillview Hub to vibrant community gatherings like our Global Streets Festival, you’ll get the opportunity to work with diverse groups of people and help strengthen community bonds.

A snapshot of your new role:

  • Coordinate access to community facilities, spaces and equipment by providing general information, customer service and administration support to community members
  • Assist with event registration, engage participants, and handle event set-up/pack-down like a pro
  • Support planning and delivery of small community projects, including basic reporting, correspondence, administration and document management
  • Assist with website management, e-newsletters, marketing and social media

Please note these casual positions may provide relief leave coverage to the Hillview and Community Learning Team, including some evenings and weekends. You may work across Cultural Hub and Library Locations - please refer to location opening hours for more information.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Qualification in community services/development, customer service, or relevant experience
  • Background and experience in supporting community events or programs
  • Friendly communicator and comfortable interacting with people from all backgrounds
  • Sound writing and digital literacy skills
  • Flexibility to work events across various locations including evenings and occasional weekends
  • Valid "C" Class Driver's Licence, Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) and a satisfactory National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old)
