Health Safety Environmental Quality (HSEQ) Officer – Transport
Full-time –Ongoing

 

Position Number: 8103                     Location: Queanbeyan

The Package: $92,645.28 - $102,375.52 gross per annum + 11.5% super (evaluated as Grade 14 of the QPRC Salary System 2024) and a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full time - 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements will be considered for this role.

Are you passionate about ensuring the safety of individuals and the environment within the local community? Council is seeking a HSEQ professional to work with our transport construction and maintenance teams, to maintain the quality of workplace safety processes.

 

In this role you will:

  • Maintain productive working relationships with transport staff, management, union representatives and service providers in relation to HSEQ issues.
  • Develop and implement systems for workplace and worksite inspections.
  • Investigate near misses/incidents causing injury and develop strategies for injured workers and injury prevention.
  • Support and maintain Council’s Transport HSEQ Management System.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant degree or Cert IV in Work Health and Safety with experience within road construction and/or maintenance.
  • Has proven success improving safety culture and performance within organisations.
  • Can demonstrate solid capacity to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
