- Base salary from $102,542 to $115,550 p.a. + super
- Deed allowance of $4,000 + potential to earn an additional market rate allowance up to $10,000 p.a
- Fortnightly RDO + potential to work from home up to 2 days per week
About the role
Woollahra Council is seeking to employ an experienced Senior Property Officer to join our well established Property & Projects team on a permanent full time basis.
Reporting to the Manager of Property & Projects, you will be required to manage Council's property portfolio and maximise the community benefits of our assets whilst providing a professional service that is compliant with the appropriate legislation and policies.
Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
- Administer property leases, licences and agreements
- Manage encroachments on Council land
- Prepare detailed public reports to Council in relation to Council's property matters
About you
We are looking for an experienced property professional who has excellent negotiation and consultation skills to effectively build strong partnerships with our key internal and external stakeholders.
In addition, you will have completed tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as Property, Real Estate, Land Economics or Law and demonstrate highly developed property management, sales and purchasing experience.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in a Property, Real Estate, Land Economics or Law related discipline.
- Experience in property sales and leasing, arranging valuations and conveyancing, with preference given to experience in sales of road reserves.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in property management.
- Experience in inviting tenders for leases & licences for Council property.
- Highly developed oral and advanced written communication skills.
- Demonstrated negotiation and consultation skills.
- Experience in budget planning and the use of financial systems.
- Advanced computer software skills including Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint Excel, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in local government.
- Understanding of the Roads Act.
- Experience in the use of Technology One finance system, as a purchasing, order and invoice. processing and budget management tool.
- Advanced file management skills using HPE records management system.

A deed allowance of up to $4,000 will be paid in addition to your normal rate of pay in recognition that you may be required to work additional hours as necessary to perform the duties of the role and to attend Council meetings outside normal work hours from time to time.
An additional market rate allowance of up to $10,000 may also be offered based on skills and experience against the market.
