YOUR ROLE
Are you looking to kick start your career working toward becoming a trade qualified mechanic? This is your opportunity to become an integral member of Council’s workshop team, and to earn while you learn!

 

As the Apprentice Mechanic, you will work within a supportive environment, whilst acquiring the knowledge, skills and competence to complete your apprenticeship.

This is a four-year apprenticeship, commencing in early 2025.

 

YOUR APPRENTICESHIP

As part of your apprenticeship, you will:

  • complete a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • gain hands on experience to develop vital skills and knowledge to ensure successful completion of the Certificate III
  • work in a supportive environment to assist you to reach your career goals
  • have access to e-learning platforms and ongoing training and support through Council’s cultural development program

 

YOUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

During your apprenticeship, you will have access to:

  • a commencing weekly salary of $920.10 with progression during the apprenticeship to $1,194.60, dependent upon studies and performance
  • 5% superannuation
  • a 38 hour week, working a 9 day fortnight
  • 2 health and wellbeing leave days for your Christmas break
  • 3 weeks sick leave per year, cumulative where unused
  • salary packaging options available including novated leasing
