About the role
The City of Coffs Harbour is seeking an experienced professional to lead our Asset Services Team. The successful candidate will foster a customer-focused culture within the Section and support the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects that effectively serve the community through the Survey and Design and Asset Support Teams.
This position reports to the Director of City Infrastructure and will have four direct reports. The Section Leader of Asset Services is a key leadership role that provides expertise in all asset management matters.
This role involves leading and managing the Asset Services Section in delivering engineering survey and design services, technical and environmental advice, and asset management support services. The successful candidate will also need to assess whether decisions or actions could have a negative impact on the environment or the community, both now and in the future, and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
Other responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of the City's asset services, including the development of asset strategies and plans.
- Ensuring the timely and budget-compliant delivery of surveys, designs, technical drawings, specifications, environmental assessments, and documentation for infrastructure projects.
- Reviewing Environmental Factors under Part 5 of the EPA Act 1979.
- Applying environmental laws and associated systems and processes to manage the risk of serious or irreversible impact on the environment.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management or a related local government discipline and significant applicable experience
- Demonstrated relevant leadership experience at a similar level.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
