Regardless of whether you are recently graduated and looking to start your career or have extensive experience in statutory planning functions, we have the role for you!
On offer, depending on experience, we have a Planner or Senior Planner role where you’ll play a key role in facilitating development and ensuring
sustainable growth across Dubbo and Wellington. This role involves liaising
with developers, the public, and Council teams, while assisting in the
administration of Statutory Planning matters. You will support the Statutory
Planning Services Team Leader, assist in application assessments, provide advice on building and development-related matters, and contribute to
policy review processes. This hands-on role will allow you to apply your degree in Town
Planning and experience in statutory planning functions, while utilising your strong customer
service and communication skills to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders.
You'll find growth through:
- Actively
supporting the Statutory Planning Services Team Leader and Manager Building &
Development Services in promoting a customer focused and responsive service - Providing advice and consultation on statutory planning, building and development related matters various internal and external stakeholders
- The
timely processing, determination and monitoring of Development Applications, Subdivision Certificates and Notice Certificates - Applying relevant legislation, strategic land use policy, LEPs and DCPs accurately in the
assessment of applications or provision of advice - Ensuring compliance by developers and builders with conditions of consent of approved development applications
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Degree qualifications in Town Planning suitable
for corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia - Demonstrated industry experience
- Strong focus on customer service
- Well developed written and oral communication skills
We would also love you to have:
- Post
graduate qualification in related field such as Management, Environmental
Management and / or Urban Design - Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
- Experience in Local Government Planning

Recently graduated and looking for experience - the position of Planner offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $85,603 to $99,483.
Those with extensive post graduate and local government experience - the position of Senior Planner offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $93,725 to $108,924.
A leaseback vehicle is also available.
