The roles

Revenue Officer - Valuations 

We are looking for a Revenue Officer – Valuations to join our Rating Services team. In this role, you will support the Team Leader in managing land valuations and ensuring accurate rating information. You will help issue supplementary rates and charges notices, maintain property and rating data, and ensure that valuation details are reconciled.

Your responsibilities will include managing land valuations from general revaluations and supplementary lists, preparing and issuing supplementary rate notices, and applying rate exemptions for properties under conservation agreements. 

The successful candidate will be someone with experience in revenue, valuation, and/or property services. Strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with rating systems and financial data are essential. You should be comfortable working with legislation and Council policies.

Salary: Commencing salary package range circa $69,000 p.a. - $76,000 p.a. plus superannuation. (Dependent on skills and experience.)   

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.

Senior Revenue Officer 

We’re looking for a Senior Revenue Officer to join our Rating Services team. In this role, you will support the Team Leader with daily operations, helping manage Council’s rates and financial records. You’ll maintain, control and reconcile Council’s Rates ledger to ensure it remains in balance with Council’s General Ledger, and assist with documenting and/or reviewing rating and revenue policies and processes  You will also assist with preparing annual claims, such as pensioner rebates and subsidy claims, and handle customer inquiries.

Ideally, you will be someone with experience in financial services in a local government setting. You should have great attention to detail, strong communication skills, and be comfortable working with financial software and Microsoft Office.

Location: Both positions will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
