About the Role

Are you a natural storyteller with the knack for writing fresh, accurate and concise content to a tight deadline? Do you know what makes people tick, and how to drive positive workplace engagement? Wollongong City Council has an exciting opportunity for you!

We're looking for an experienced Corporate Communications Officer to join our Communications & Marketing team. We are the team who provide integrated communication and marketing services to deliver organisational communications, media and marketing content, strategies and initiatives.

You'll be an enthusiastic and collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is the norm, and you understand that being a collaborative team player is the way to get things done.

In this role, you'll use your information-gathering skills to develop and deliver strategic, integrated internal and corporate communication plans, providing content that makes a genuine impact.

You'll work closely with Senior Leaders, Executive and other key stakeholders to develop and implement organisational messaging and communications plans, and you will monitor and report on the effectiveness of these tactics.

This is a Permanent full-time position, salary from $102,533.29 up to $122,520.09 per annum plus superannuation.

What You will be doing:

  • You'll be developing, implementing and reviewing internal communications plans and channels to ensure they're in line with Council objectives, and reporting on the effectiveness of communications plans and channels.
  • You'll work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders from across Council, including the General Manager, Executive and Senior Leaders, to support the awareness, engagement and delivery of organisational culture and change initiative and the delivery of employee experience.
  • You'll understand Council's customer-centric focus and develop, maintain and improve corporate and direct communications for targeted stakeholders.

You've a keen eye for detail and bring significant experience in using a range of tactics that turn written content into compelling material which meets the needs of different stakeholders and audiences.
