The role

The Cadet Digital Content Officer role offers a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career by supporting Council's communication goals. You'll create videography, photography, and digital content to highlight our services, initiatives, and projects, sharing our stories and the work we do with the community.

This position is ideal for a student in their penultimate or final year of study, or a recent graduate in Communications, Social Media, Photography, or a similar field, seeking a great start in local government. You’ll develop your skills with guidance from experienced communications professionals while monitoring social media, responding to media inquiries, and managing urgent issues. You'll also create and edit content for various platforms, support the Media Specialist, assist with media briefings, and contribute to Mayoral engagement and outreach activities.

You will

  • Be enrolled in or graduated with a tertiary qualification in communications, media, or a related field. 
  • Have experience managing social and digital media platforms. 
  • Have proven ability to create engaging content for social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. 
  • Be skilled in producing video and photography content for various channels and styles. 
  • Have a strong understanding of social and web analytics tools to inform decision-making. 
  • Be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines. 
  • Have experience thriving in a fast-paced environment, adapting to shifting priorities. 
  • Be available to work weeknights and weekends. 
  • Hold a current Class C Driver’s Licence.

 

 

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $69,728 (Grade D, Step 1) + 11.5% super.
