About the opportunity
We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced, resilient and innovative leader to join us as the Senior Coordinator Civil Operations.
You will play a large role in delivering our vision to be the best Council in Australia.
This is a brilliant opportunity to deliver high-quality services to our community, and to be the key lead to deliver civil asset maintenance activities.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Extensive experience in local government, particularly in dealing with civil operations with day labour and contractors
- Experience working with unions
- Well developed conflict resolution skills
- A solid track record over several years in previous positions
- An excellent customer service record
- Knowledge about mobility and telematics.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Relevant trade vocational or tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated extensive experience in preparing detailed operational reports and work program budgets
- Demonstrated extensive experience working with and leading multi-disciplined operational work teams
- Demonstrated experience delivering civil operations works
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Demonstrated experience in delivering high level customer service in an operational work context
- Demonstrated experience using computer programs such as Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations for civil maintenance work projects
- Class C driver’s licence
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Good understanding of WH&S Act and regulations.
Desirable:
- Experience working in local government civil work /operational works at a senior level
- Experience developing and deploying operational project management plans
- Experience in developing strategic plans for delivery of unit operations
- Experience in dealing with unions and resolution of staff matters.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $2,426.22 per week
- 35-hour working week
