The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a diligent individual who will be responsible for the development and maintenance of BVSC’s spatial database information as well as the integration of BVSC’s GIS and textual database solutions.

As a GIS Officer, you will provide high level GIS and spatial organisational support and provide ongoing advice to Council staff regarding Council's geospatial platforms and information. You will maintain accurate records of software information upgrades and enhancements relevant to spatial databases.

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds an Associate Diploma in Spatial Information Systems (or higher qualification) or accredited equivalent qualification and has eight (8) years’ experience working with spatial systems (indicative).

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Detailed technical knowledge of GIS and data management.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of Spatial databases (GIS/LIS).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of computer software applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Solid project management skills, including ability to coordinate, negotiate, schedule, and communicate with all levels of staff.

Benefits

This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $92,286.77 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • $1,591.70 per week base salary
  • $183.05 per week superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)
