The Position
The Environmental Health Officer will work within the Regulatory Services team to maintain and improve community public health and environmental conditions through education, advocacy and compliance.
The Environmental Health Officer will undertake a range of duties including:
- Conducting investigations, inspections and report findings on a variety of environmental health and protection related activities in order to maintain public health
- Assessing environmental health and permit applications and issue permits and licences
- Providing timely, accurate professional advice, assistance and communication to stakeholders on a variety of environmental health and protection related activities
- Promoting effective community consultation on all aspects of environmental health and protection through environmental education programs with internal and external stakeholders - Please see the position description for more information including the selection criteria
About You
You will have tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health (or equivalent) or demonstrated relevant experience/skills in a similar role which allows eligibility for membership of Environmental Health Australia.
It is essential you have a demonstrated knowledge of relevant environmental health issues faced by regional organisations with diverse services (Local Government or similar) is essential; as well as knowledge or experience in investigative, analytical and research skills. You have relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team environment will be evident,
