We are seeking to fill multiple Professional Driver positions with highly experienced and motivated drivers on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an opportunity to advance your skills, build a stable career, and achieve a fulfilling work-life balance.
As a Waste Services Driver, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality waste management services with duties including:
- Safely operating Council vehicles equipped with modern Telematics systems
- Collecting residential and commercial waste and maintaining bin infrastructure
- Reporting operational issues and maintaining daily run sheets
- Working collaboratively with the Waste Services leadership team.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Customer service experience
- Well-developed communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and unsupervised
- Ability to locate properties using systems such as Google Maps, TechOne, Telematics, Global Positioning System (GPS), directions and signage
- Current class HR driver's licence.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in waste management collection and/or removal or similar field
- Previous experience in using Telematics systems and Global Positioning systems (GPS).
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- An attractive remuneration package inclusive of favourable working conditions will be offered to the successful candidate
- 38-hour working week, plus an additional compulsory 1 hour overtime per day
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every month
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
