Are you passionate about optimising software systems and ensuring efficient IT solutions? In this role, you will oversee and manage Council’s software assets, including on-premises, cloud-based, corporate, and specialised applications. You'll assess new software requests, provide expert advice to business areas, and support a variety of specialised applications used across departments.

About the role:

  • Undertake software asset management for Council's on-premises applications and SAAS Products.
  • Support, administer, and maintain Council's specialised (non-corporate) software applications.
  • Undertake all aspects of software asset management (SAM), including procurement, vendor engagement, licence management, renewals, compliance, and reporting.
  • Deliver technical support and guidance to end-users for specialised software applications.

We are seeking:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computing Science, or related discipline.
  • Experience in software asset management (SAM) covering on-premises and SAAS applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management including the proven ability to lead and manage IT projects.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with an ability to manage conflicting demands and meet deadlines.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.

Do you hold a degree in Information Technology, Computing Science, or a related discipline?

Describe your experience working in a large and complex IT environment including your experience in software asset management (SAM) covering on-premises and SAAS applications, as well as your experience in providing technical and business support in software applications.

Describe your experience with SharePoint and Microsoft 365, as well as your ability to conduct business analysis, gather user requirements, and assist in configuring and enhancing software applications. 

Describe your knowledge and experience in project management, including the proven ability to lead and manage IT projects.

Describe your time management and prioritisation skills with an ability to manage conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
