Project Manager/Engineer – City Works

• Permanent full-time opportunity, $101,795 to $114,010 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation, plus 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance

About the Role

This role involves managing the planning and delivery of capital projects/programs to ensure the construction of quality infrastructure assets for the community, whilst maintaining budgets in line with Council's operational plan. You will be a subject matter expert, providing project management and technical advice in relation to civil works and other capital projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of the road resheeting program (road pavement renewal), footpath programs, kerb and gutter renewal and stormwater drainage renewal works.
• Completion of project and program activities including preparing RFQ/RFT documentation, scheduling, feasibility assessment and development of consultant and other briefs.
• Engaging with stakeholders and external providers, such as contractors and consultants to develop quality and innovative solutions to the agreed project scope, budgets, timelines and deliverables.
• Providing accurate advice, analysis and reporting to Council stakeholders and make recommendations regarding project briefs, major developments and infrastructure.
• Provision of expert evidence in claims and legal proceedings relating to infrastructure projects.

About You

We are seeking an experienced project manager/engineer who is a confident communicator with the ability to effectively articulate relevant concepts and ideas to a broad range of both internal and external stakeholders.

• A Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) which satisfies eligibility requirements for professional membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent professional association.
• Or, have extensive 10+ years’ experience in the delivery of civil works including capital projects and programs.
• On-site experience in the management of contractors and staff.
• Understanding of Local Government procurement practices
• Strong understanding and ability to draft/assess Request for Quote and Request for Tender documentation related to capital projects/programs.
• Current Driver’s Licence Class C.
