About the Opportunity
Cobar Water Board is seeking a full-time Water & Wastewater Manager based in Cobar, NSW.
This role provides an opportunity to lead our water and wastewater team to new heights of efficiency and innovation.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading operational and capital programs for water and wastewater, ensuring excellence in maintenance, renewal, and upgrades
- Supplying technical advice and managerial oversight for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and achievement of council objectives
- Providing mentorship and leadership to your team, emphasising people management, staff development, and retention
- Ensuring effective management of water and wastewater operations in line with council guidelines

About You
To qualify, you will need a degree in Engineering (or similar) and/or extensive operational management experience in the water and wastewater industry, projects, and infrastructure.
Leadership skills are essential; we seek an exceptional individual who can master the intricacies of engineering and excel in managing people. Field experience is highly valued, with a special call for those who can balance technical expertise with outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Moreover, we're looking for:
- Proven leadership and the ability to mentor and manage diverse teams
- Strong technical background in water and wastewater
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the capacity to drive change
- Flexibility and agility to adapt to evolving challenges and opportunities
