Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Procurement and Contracts Cadet, you will play a vital role in supporting the effective implementation of the Council’s procurement framework. You will assist in various areas such as procurement planning, market research, RFx documentation, and supplier evaluation. Your contributions will ensure a seamless end-to-end procurement process while promoting ethical and sustainable practises.

In this position, you will not only enhance your understanding of procurement and contracts but also develop essential skills in data analysis, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Your proactive approach will help identify areas for improvement, ultimately benefiting the Council and the community.

Are You the Right Fit?

  • Currently enrolled in your penultimate or final year of university studies.
  • Possess a Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • A demonstrated commitment to completing tertiary qualifications and achieving full professional accreditation in contracts and procurement.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and comprehension skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of procurement and contracts is a plus, along with strong analytical abilities.

  • Package: From $59,700 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Hours of work:  Up to 2 years full time temporary contract.  35 hours per week with option of 19 day flexitime arrangement
