Location: Tamworth, NSW
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Identifying opportunities for growth and improvement for Council and Community by providing strategic financial analysis and advice in alignment to Councils Long Term Financial plan, future integrated planning and reporting strategies and Community service obligations
- Contribution to operational excellence through analysis of the financial performance of the Council's services and assets in a balanced approach that recognises Community Service Obligations with optimising return on investment where appropriate
- Contribution to strategic economic growth by delivering high quality analysis, insights and recommendations to business case development, investment proposals, strategic planning, policy development and reporting

Council are seeking a personable individual who has experience with financial data analysis and a can do attitude. You will be willing to learn and have the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for:
Contributing to the Economic Activation and Analysis business unit of Tamworth Regional Council to facilitate the growth of economic development in the Local Government Area.
- Supporting the EA&A Manager, finance team and Council’s Management in strategic and financial planning for Council as directed, including assets management plans, budget reporting, analysis of business / asset performance, and support for financial components of business case and capital expenditure review preparation
- Developing financial modelling, interpreting and analysing data and run scenarios to provide support to the Council and decision-making process of key stakeholders
- Conducting market and financial research for various investment proposals, projects, assets and services
- Working closely with the Business Systems & Solutions and Finance teams to upgrade the technology used for internal reporting, create dashboards and regular reports to businesses within council
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Degree in Finance, Business or similar
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Insightful reporting and financial analysis, including business planning, strategic initiatives and broader insights to support preparation of business cases and drive decision making

Salary range: $86,308.58 - $103,104.86 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
