The role & you
We are looking for a Development Planner to join our Development Assessment and Building Certification department.
This position will require an experienced planner who has confidence in managing a diverse portfolio of development applications. Demonstrated knowledge of environmental and planning legislation and a focus and commitment to the highest level of customer service is essential. Strong collaboration and negotiation skills will support you to influence sustainable development outcomes across a diverse range of stakeholder groups.
We are looking for someone with a degree in urban planning, or a related field, along with experience in development assessment and knowledge of planning legislation. Strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and an interest in staying current with planning laws are essential.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $91,000p.a. - $99,000 p.a. plus superannuation.
A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
