ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
Council is offering a great opportunity for motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individuals to work effectively with the team to provide quality horticultural maintenance services within our open spaces assets.
The key responsibility of this position is to safely and efficiently operate a zero turn mower to maintain a variety of open spaces and reserves throughout the shire.
To be successful you will bring
- Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
- Class LR driver licence (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in horticulture labouring.
- Demonstrated experience in the operation of various plant and equipment items related to the horticulture industry, with experience in hitching and unhitching of trailers and equipment.
- Basic mechanical, equipment and plant knowledge with proven experience in and ability to undertake basic plant maintenance.
- Basic digital literacy with experience and competence in computers and devices (e.g. tablet, iPhone) applications.
- Proven good communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work independently and within a multi-skilled team meeting agreed goals and deadlines.
The rewards
- A salary range of $55,800 to $64,000 per annum (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills and experience.
- 9 day fortnight working arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Full time field staff will have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational and team based requirements and approval.
