About the role
The Team Leader Library is responsible for managing day-to-day operations and delivering contemporary and customer-focused library services that meet the learning needs of the City’s diverse community. Working across four libraries, the Team Leader Library also develops quality partnerships with external stakeholders to strengthen community relationships in line with the City’s learning strategy.
A snapshot of your new role:
- Lead a large team of library staff, providing guidance and advice in daily operations.
- Drive excellent customer service levels and a community library experience that is welcoming and engaging.
- Develop external community partnerships to support delivery of priorities identified in the City’s learning strategy.
- Identity and develop service improvement initiatives that enhance operations and programs.
How you will thrive in this role:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a team leader/management position.
- Proven experience in directing and coordinating professional delivery of library services.
- Strong leadership skills - demonstrated ability to drive positive team performance and culture, and effectively manage staff and volunteers.
- Highly customer focused and able to role model and coach team members in providing excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated experience in developing partnerships with community groups/external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills - ability to manage competing priorities and plan work schedules of others.
- Project management experience and excellent technology and digital literacy skills.
- Flexibility to work across a 7 day per week roster, including evenings and weekends (please refer to opening hours).
