Total Package $78,998.49 per annum (inclusive of superannuation)

WALGA is looking for a new Accounts Officer to join our innovative and customer-focused finance team and dive into a role where you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, including processing and payment activities. You will also provide assistance to the Accounts Receivable function and the finance team with other transactional activities, as required.

What will a typical week look like?
As owner of the accounts payable function, your day to day will include:
- validating purchase orders and supplier invoices using ProSpend, reviewing accounting codes, GST and compliance with policies,
- liaising with stakeholders to resolve queries and providing support
- updating supplier information
- liaising with suppliers
- monitoring accounts payable emails,
Additionally, you will reconcile our accounts payable module, prepare weekly batch payments, and administer the expense management systems. You will also provide support and training on these systems to internal stakeholders.
Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures will see you engaging with the business, assisting with auditing requirements and month-end processes.

To be successful in this position you will possess excellent communication skills, be proactive and self-motivated with a willingness to learn, enjoy working in a professional team environment and are looking to take ownership and responsibility for the accounts payable function.
Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable and a strong drive to learn and grow in Finance/Accounting will be highly regarded, as the Accounts Officer role will offer you the potential to engage in various other aspects of finance and accounting function.
