About you
Your key responsibilities will include responding to customer enquiries, maintaining databases and correspondence, processing requisitions and invoices, and assisting in the preparation of statistical reports for the manager.
You will have the capacity to manage the quiet periods, to foster relationships with staff to ensure the flow of communication within the department, and to identify opportunities for improvement within the administrative systems which support the department’s work.
The depot, located next to Paddington Bowling Club, is the base for the tree maintenance, parks and sports fields maintenance and bush regeneration teams.
This is a temporary 12 month contract, working part time (3 days per week) Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated substantial administration experience
- Ability to multitask effectively with attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
- Demonstrated ability to use Windows-based computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, to a high level
- Demonstrated ability to accurately maintain databases
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated organisational and coordination skills, with ability to follow tasks through to completion
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision as well as in a team environment
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in Local Government or similar environment
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration or equivalent
