As our After Hours Maintenance Officer, you’ll be crucial in maintaining the
facilities, ensuring the smooth operations, and contributing to the success
of one of the largest selling centres in Australia in terms of combined sheep and cattle numbers! You'll
play a key role in supporting the running of the livestock markets and sales in a safe and efficient manner.
We’re building a strong, positive team, and we’re looking for people who are
trustworthy, team players, and eager to learn—previous experience isn’t
required, as we’re happy to train the right candidates. Working 3pm-11pm (negotiable) with a focus on work-life balance, this is the perfect
opportunity for those ready to take their first steps into a career with Dubbo Regional Council.
You'll work with a great team to:
- Undertake general maintenance of the Dubbo Regional Livestock Market, including but not limited to, painting, concreting, carpentry, plumbing, lawn and tree maintenance, cleaning, fencing, and minor building maintenance and repairs
- Drive, operate and undertake maintenance of plant machinery competently
- Euthanizing and disposing of crippled/diseased stock
- Assist with general duties at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets as required
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Physical fitness to carry out the requirements of the role
- Demonstrated experience and skills in plant operation
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team
We would also love you to have:
- MR Drivers Licence
- Possession of or ability to obtain a firearms licence
- Basic Carpentry / metal working skills
- Chemsafe / chemical handling
- Certificate II Agriculture

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $57,826 to $67,203 plus shift penalty and other allowances.
