ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are seeking a motivated and customer focused individual to join our Airport team. Reporting to the Airport Operations and Compliance Manager, this position will perform various tasks to maintain the safety, security, and operational excellence of the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport.

In this role, you will be dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to airport users and will take on the responsibilities of Airport Reporting Officer and Safety Officer. A key focus will be to contribute to ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements related to airport reporting functions and aviation security provisions.

  • Demonstrated awareness of airport operations, regulations, standards and policies,(e.g. Aerodrome Manual, TSP, Safety Management System, Part 139 Manual of Standards (Aerodromes).
  • Proven sound communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to consult on matters and resolve conflict.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy with experience and competence in computer and devices (e.g. tablet, iPhone) applications, including Microsoft 365.
  • Eligibility to obtain an Airport Reporting Officer’s certificate.
  • Eligibility to obtain and hold and Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to obtain or currently hold a Firearms Licence and exercise safe management and use of firearms.
  • Eligibility to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). This requires the passing of an ASIO security assessment and an Australian Federal Police criminal records check.
  • Class C driver licence.
  • Willingness and ability to work in accordance with airport operational requirements, including weekends, public holidays and on-call.

The rewards

  • An annual salary range of $68,700 to $78,900 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications. Appropriate penalty rates will also apply for work on weekends and public holidays.
