We have two fantastic apprenticeship opportunities to join our Building Services team.

  • Carpentry Apprentice
  • Painter and Decorator Apprentice

About us

Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. About the roles

* Carpentry Apprentice

This is a hands on role perfect for someone with a passion for creating, building and learning from experienced professionals.  In this role, you’ll gain valuable knowledge and practical experience in all aspects of carpentry and building construction and work alongside skilled supervisors to complete projects that improve council-owned buildings and facilities

* Painting Apprentice

The Apprentice Painter / Decorator role requires a person who demonstrates interest, motivation and attitude for this trade.  Working closely with the building management services team, you will gain knowledge and experience in providing assistance in the painting of council structures.

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are passionate about carpentry, painting and building maintenance.  You will have good communication skills, enjoy working in a team environment and have a willingness to learn.  You will need the ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role.

Shortlisted candidates will need to be available for interviews in the week of 13 January 2025.  Successful candidates will be onboarded end of January 2025.
