We are currently seeking applications from candidates who are interested in undertaking a Civil Construction apprenticeship with Hawkesbury Council.

Commencing in February 2025 we anticipate that there will be apprenticeships available in Civil Construction and Parks and Gardens, which will be made possible due to the ‘Fresh Start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees and Cadets’ – grant funding program.

The Apprentice – Civil Construction would be a 3-year apprenticeship opportunity which is focused on learning about and undertaking construction and maintenance activities and projects in Council’s Infrastructure Operations team, whilst completing a Certificate III in Civil Construction.

About You

You will be eager to learn and enthusiastic to commit to on-the-job and formal training components of an apprenticeship. You will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal and have basic computer skills with some knowledge of computer applications like Microsoft Office being a plus. You will be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of maintenance and construction as well as Workplace Health and Safety.

You will be open and responsive to feedback and be able to demonstrate your interest in supporting Hawkesbury Council’s purpose ‘To build a Hawkesbury that is loved by its people’.
